Quaker week 2007

British Quakers decided to concentrate much of our public relations activity for 2007 in the period from Saturday 22 to Sunday 30 September.

Hereford and Mid Wales Quakers organized several events as part of National Quaker Week

Abergavenny Quakers - extra meeting for worship for enquirers, Sun 23rd

Aberystwyth Quakers - exhibition in the town, Mon 24th to Fri 28th

Almeley Quakers - Bric a Brac sale Sat 22nd, 1000-1600 hrs All Saints’ Church, Hereford
Almeley Quakers’ History exhibition, Sat 22nd to Sat 29th, (not Sun 23rd)
All Saints Church, Hereford (free admission)

Clun Valley Quakers - stand at Michaelmas Fayre, Bishop’s Castle
They held Quaker meeting for worship at 11.00 on Sunday 23 at the stand
also library & school visits during Quaker week

Hereford Quakers - street party 21 King Street (for map click here)
a variety of fun activities there from 3 to 5 pm; these included: singing, circle dancing, storytelling, and refreshments - no proselytizing!

Ledbury Quakers - meet Ledbury Quakers, Sat 22nd & 29th (mornings)

Ludlow QuakersSpecial Things - possessions with a meaning’
 exhibition in Ludlow Quaker Meeting House,
10.30-1800 daily (refreshments available)

Macynlleth Quakers
Drop-in session in Arts Centre during Quaker Week - details available locally

Newtown Quakers
 Meeting for Worship at 10.30 in the Montgomery Activity Centre, on Sunday 14th October (note date!) - was open to all. Afterwards, light lunch, an exhibition and the opportunity to find out about the Society of Friends (Quakers)
After lunch there was also the opportunity to visit the historic Dolobran Meeting House, in the hills above Meiford.
