We have been busy knitting Teddies for Tragedies at Clun Valley Local Meeting and because we are interested in the Ecumenical Accompaniers programme we decided that we would like them to go to Palestine. Fortunately, there was someone from Bishop's Castle going to Palestine just before Christmas who agreed to take the teddies. She took them to an orphanage in Bethlehem where the nuns were delighted to get them. Apparently, there is a great need for toys there. If anyone else wishes to knit Teddies for Tragedies, there is a free pattern available (here) with ideas of where they are welcome. |
